I think one of the things we have to keep in mind is that the 'soap opera' dynamic works on the "conflict/resolve" pendulum. In order to have a 'front burner' storyline there needs to be that flux in relationships/story lines to keep the viewer interested. Although I have really enjoyed the softer more tender moments in Nora/Sam's relationship. Too bad they didn't have more prior to this 'break-up'. The inevitable '3rd wheel' had to rear its ugly head in order to generate a continuing story (which also equals good air time for the actors involved.)
Two terrific actors who portray Vicki/Ben have a good onscreen relationship and have sadly been put on 'hold' only flanking the younger story line currently with Jessica/Natalie. I would hate to see that happen to either Larry, Hillary, Ty and Catherine as I think they generate a lot of interest. Larry, I just wanted to say that I think you have added a much needed to boost to the show. I really enjoyed Kale Browne, but I think you have brought a breath of fresh air to the role. It has been a real joy to watch over the past year. I wish you all the best in your endeavors. Sadly, I missed Thursday's episode as a power outage caused my VCR to forget the timer settings. I am sorry your character, Sam is hurting. Nora should have been more sensitive toward Sam's feelings. She should have let the past go even though justice wasn't done. See Lindsay in jail would be a good thing because of her wrong doings. She needs to be dealt with by the police. I feel for Sam right now. He deserves some peace and the safety of his and Nora's son. I just reread my previous post and I must make a correction: I meant to say Nora was a fool to pick Troy over Sam. I am in no way a fan of Troy. I hope my fellow Samians (fans of Sam) can forgive me for that mistake. That said. LL you gave another good performance today with Starr, Blair and Todd. You were completely sympathetic as Sam told Blair about what happened and about Nora, fool that she is, choosing Troy over Sam. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks Nancy. LOL. I would make a very poor double agent because I hate Trolin and love our strong Sammy. It was so nice to see Sam not taking any crap from Troy or Todd today. It is very noble of Sam to want to protect Blair but unfortunately her life is going to be destroyed just as much or more than Sam's was when she learns the truth about Todd. At least she will have Sam there to comfort her.
Larry: I am loving getting to Sammy a lot! That Trolin is big trouble. It is great to see Sammy standing up to Troy, Todd, and Nora! I've been looking at some Blair sites, and to say that are NOT happy with the idea of Sam/Blair is an understatement. If they pair Sam and Blair, I'm afraid everyone will hate Sam. I hope they don't go there.
J.C. I totally agree with you about the Blair fans. If there was NEVER a Todd/Blair there would be no problem with Sam/Blair. We can't have his character in another bad position! They should (IMHO) hire someone new for him and let him have his "own" story. I want him to stay with Nora if she ever gets her common sense back, but if that can't be, then get him someone new, and Nora realizing just what she lost, try to get him back, being the third wheel for once! Larry, Loved the way Sam told Troy how he saw things...that's how I see them too. Sam stood up to Troy and Todd and that put a smile on my face. Too bad Nora doesn't know about how Trolin paid that kid to send Sam on a wild goose chase. Hi Larry, I enjoyed watching Sam standing up to both Troy and Todd. Sam has taken so much from these two bozos. I can't wait for Sam to open a can of whoopa$$ on Trolin. You have done an amazing job this week on the show. As Jamie said, I would also hate if a drunk guy came up to me and kissed me. We've got the Fan Club luncheon coming up, and then we've got the West coast Super Soap Weekend after that, and then shortly after that we've got our LIVE week! Scared? Who said scared? Larry! Some more great scenes with Blair and Matthew! I think Todd has passed the point of no return by threatening your life! He almost had that same look Trolin does (when he has successfully succeeded in manipulating someone), he was pretty creepy! Oh well, I am thinking that since they are throwing all of these "wonderful" (heavy sarcasm) things your way that maybe you are going to explode or take charge and take care of these people. You know, be our hero, take care of the creeps, but still be that sweet Sammy with the big heart! That's my theory! For whatever it is worth! Hi Larry. I'm so glad you take the time to post in your guestbook. It is a real treat! I am really loving your performances. I've been sending you about two postcards a week to tell you so. I hope you have been getting them. I'm longwinded and it takes two postcards for me to complete all my thoughts. I'm enjoying Sam more lately. I like Sam with a back bone. I loved it when Sam stood up to Troy, Todd and Nora. I loved it when Sam was drunk too! I really want to see a strong, good Sam that is witty, no nonsense and has a bit of a bite to his character. I hope the writers begin to portray Sam this way. Sam has always been too nice especially to Lindsay and Nora. I don't want Sam to stay angry and hurt too long. I'm ready for Sam to move on.
I also hope we see more of Sam's humor and witt. I wasn't sure if I would like Sam and Blair but I do. I think a strong, witty, no nonsense Sam with Blair returning to her independent devious self could be fun to watch. ( Of course I will always dream of Sam and Nora and Matthew and am still greatly disappointed that there is no future for S/N. Especially since S/N are a helluva lot better than T/N. Plus Sam looks better than Troy. Yes I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my eyes enjoy beholden you!:) I'm glad the writers are giving Sam more depth. Sam was used as a pawn to break up B/N then written as a sap for Nora. It's time for Sam to be his own man! May the writers write well for your character. I wish you the best. Bravo to Sam for asking Nora to sign a custody agreement for Matthew. Sam was acting like a concerned father and a good lawyer. It is good to know that Matthew can at least count on Sam while Nora is off making a fool of herself with Troy. I am looking forward to seeing more Sam and Matthew scenes.
