Larry - It breaks my heart to know you will be leaving OLTL. You were a tremendous asset to the show, and it will not be the same without you there. I have enjoyed our friendship, and I hope it will continue for a long time. What ever your next adventure, just know that I will be there to support you...unconditionally!! I'm sure I speak for most people when I say that I'm truly saddened that Larry has been let go. It's never easy to see a favorite character (or actor, for some of us) leave a show, but I truly believe Larry is moving on to bigger and better things and that everything happens for a reason. With that said, I just want to take the opportunity to say thank you to all the people I have met through this website. It truly has been a great ride...campaigns, all-night chats, phone calls, and tons of e-mails have helped us form bonds that won't be broken when Larry exits the show. Everyone here, including Larry, has brought such amazing things to my life, and I'll always be grateful for that. To my angels: the campaign isn't over...it's just beginning. Chins up! I can not express deeply enough how this news has upset me! OMG!!! I can't believe it. I'm still sad. What the heck are TPTB thinking. It took Larry's performance as Sam for me to actually like the character and now I won't even have that. Larry, I was just looking at the picture I sent you(wow it really makes me smile, too) and it takes on a new meaning now. Keep the picture close to you, and when you need some reassurance or a good laugh, just look over your shoulder and know that the *Tatermouse* will always be there for you. Larry, you will be fine..Hopefully, the next job you get, the writers will be more intelligent and actually willing to write for your character..I can empathize with how you feel, I just lost my job on Friday January 10 due to corporate downsizing. We will both be moving on to bigger and better things. I must say though that Frons, Valentini, Malone, and Griffith are the biggest idiots in daytime television to waste the opportunity they had with your character. You did an excellent with all of the poor writing and little screen time that they gave. I truly believe Larry that it will be their loss not yours..God Bless You.
Dear Larry, This saddens me to hear that TPTB has let Sam Rappaport go, especially because its YOU Larry! You are a wonderful man and a great person and if anyone cant see that, they don't have any brains!! You will be sorely missed on OLTL but please remember I will ALWAYS support you no matter what! Always! I know that you will succeed in all endeavors and you are very talented and this could mean bigger and better things for you. OMG!!! Guh!! Larry I was *so* surprised to learn that you would be leaving Llanview. I was *hoping* these rumors weren’t true!! I’m *so* sorry that the new writers/producers can’t figure out something for Sam, he was a great character and you played him *very* well! You should be very proud of what you did with very little to go on!! I hope your next role will be something you can really sink your teeth into!! You deserve that!! There is no need for you to “miss” us by the way… from my understanding this is the Official “Laurence Lau” fan club site… not Sam Rappaport’s… so you’re stuck with us! (Not such a bad thing really ~smile~) The beauty of the internet!! Larry, I can honestly tell you that something great was created here… we’ve all made friendships… laughed hysterically… had a great time… all because we had one thing in common… **you**. Plain and simple! Personally … I’ve never supported another actor before in this way in my life… and it has been truly a pleasure! I look forward in continuing on with that. “It ain’t over to the fat lady sings”… as they say. Larry: I am saddened to hear of your leaving OLTL, I think they have made many changes at OLTL in the last several years, and not all of them have been for the best, it was a mistake for them to put you in the middle of a storyline with the most popular couple on this show that people have been rooting for for years and years, I wish they have put you with an actress with no other love interest on the show and Sam had been allowed to have a love all of his own, he's a good guy and deserves that, I know you have always been a credit to daytime and have always been generous and considerate to all the fans and I hope this presents you with an opportunity to get other roles and explore other parts, I know soap opera can stop you from exploring other options because you are so busy on the show. Hello Larry, Ironically this is my first post to you, but I wanted to wish you the very best in your future endeavors. I have enjoyed your performances over the years, and I appreciate your generosity in sharing your time with your fans. I especially enjoyed your work with the children on OLTL. It was so warm and genuine. I am a drama coach for elementary aged students. So that really caught my eye. You have such a knack with them who knows maybe you will be inspired and write a play or two for young ones. Good material is pretty sparse. I know your talent will take you many wonderful places. Web ladies I wish you all of the best too. I have enjoyed reading your posts, and I think it is great that Mr. Lau has such a terrific group of fans/friends.

Larry- Hey, sweetpea,how's it going? I have a "very Larry" question for you. Did Junior Walker ever record the song "action", that you co-wrote way back when? Also, did you pursue a career as a songwriter or as a singer? Just curious, because I pulled out my scrapbook of LL clippings and came across that. I am really sad to hear the Larry is leaving OLTL. I was never thrilled with the character but I started to like him much better when Larry Lau took over the role. I adored him as Greg in AMC and haven't really seen him in anything since then. I hope they don't kill him off because then there will be a chance for him to return. Maybe he can take Jen off to get help somewhere and eventually come back without her.
Larry, I was very shocked to learn that you would be leaving the show. I had hoped that the new staff would listen to the fans and give us what we want. But it's a business and I guess we'll have to understand their position. Fortunately for you, you will be free to go on to bigger and better things; hopefully things that will showcase your talent more. Also, all your fans will follow you wherever you go. Unfortunately for OLTL they will lose viewers; me of one. I had only been watching for approximately 2 years and you were the reason I stayed with the show. Now I don't have any reason to watch. Dear Larry - Very sorry to hear tha yo are leaving OLTL. I do believe that it wasn't anything about you. I do;t think they ever really defined the character of Sam which was too bad. I remember watching you as Greg on AMC you were and our a truly wonderful actor. I read your release and am upset you are leaving OLTL. It is OLTL's loss. I watched you on AMC and will continue to follow your career and watch you where ever you end up. Hello Everyone! You'll never guess where I am: at my downstairs neighbors again just like old times using their laptop because my new little beauty crashed on me big-time Saturday. Have to send it back to the manufacturer, so I may be posting from for awhile; the plus side is that I get to hear their dogs ( Daisy and Scudder ) bark a lot, I've missed that so much! You did an outstanding job with what was written for Sam, but I think the writers dropped the ball so many times on that character. Larry, I have not been a frequent visitor to your website, but I wanted to let you know how much you will be missed on OLTL. I have always looked forward to your scenes. I think that they shouldn't take him off the show he is a very good actor. He was fantastic on All My Children. They just need to get him with somebody real good for him maybe try to have him back with Lindsey. I do think that Blair and Todd are really good together once they brought Roger Horvath back Larry didn't have a chance with his character with Blair. But please keep him on the show. Gail PS I also met Larry many years ago in East Brunswick New Jersey over 17 years ago and he was a real sweetheart back then.
Larry, I'm so sad that you will no longer be on OLTL. Sam has always been my favorite and once you took over the role well...nothing could have been finer. I certainly wish you the best. Hey Sports Fans! Just wanted to drop in and HELLO! Still banging around Llanview and having a good time. I think the new writers will do do good things for the show. Already I sense deeper character development and more intense story. I wasn't surprised that they couldn't come up with fresh vision for Sam. He wasn't a character they created and the way he was conceived and the way he has been written over the past year didn't leave them much to go on. So I look upon this as an emancipation. It was Sam's time to go and my time to move on. It was a great two years and I'm grateful for them, and now I'm looking forward to the future. Wow Larry... My heart really went out to Sam. (Just now managing to catch up on the shows I've missed. LOL!) This guy has been *so* badly dumped on that I would want to leave the city too. LOL! Holy smokes, who writes this anyway?! (Oh yeah, I forgot... they're no longer there, oops. Yes, I am bad...bad!) I hope Sam won't be the proverbial doormat for the rest of your stay there. I heard recently that you would be leaving One Life to Live and I was shocked and really angered about this decision. I've really grown accustomed to hearing your voice daily, and I will sorely miss it. Hope you are doing well and that you will continue with your successes. Hello Larry, hello everyone. I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Deb. I read all of your entries quite often, until now, I've been silent. I'm actually kind of timid, this is my first time writing in the guest book! I must confess, I haven't been on in a few weeks, so I didn't read Larry's press release, until today. Imagine my disappointment when I was shopping yesterday and saw a small picture of Larry on the SOD. I have to admit, I was beside myself. Larry, you are an enormous reason why OLTL is my favorite show. I can not even begin to fathom the thought of OLTL without Sam. I know that the writers have not been doing your character justice, it saddens me, what has happened. The show just won't be the same without you, and I wanted you to know that. I'm going to stop being selfish now, because I know unfortunately these things sometimes happen. I just hate when they do it to the characters that I love so much. Larry, you are such a wonderful and talented actor and I wish you nothing but the best in all of your future endeavors. I will miss you as Sam, that's for sure, but I am excited to think that you will be on to bigger and better things! Good Luck Larry, I hope you keep us posted with all of your work in the future. Dear Larry-- Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus and let you know how much you'll be missed on OLTL. I started watching the show for the first time solely because you were on it, and I'll be leaving when you do. I sincerely hope that you'll find work that ia rewarding for you-- and for all of us patient viewers who enjoy what you do and would like to see you in a project that will let you shine. I don't think that the OLTL writers ever did justice to your abilities, but you definitely turned straw into gold at every opportunity. Soaps are, of course, meant to be nutty and campy, but you brought elements of real warmth to the show that made it more than just a soap for a while. I always looked for the quiet scenes you did--particular the small moments with the child actors--and was always rewarded with your good performances. I appreciate it. Howdy Yall! Yessa, I'm sittin' tall, thank you very much! Had a good day at the studio, but a scary moment for me at the top of the show when they called me onto the set unexpectedly for a scene with Erika and Judge Fitzwater that I had no idea I was supposed to do. It as a courtroom scene with Sam doing most of the talking--talk about the actor's worst nightmare! Had to learn four pages of dialogue in 10 minutes; yeah, I was sweating a few bullets and paraphrasing like crazy but, like I said, I'm sittin' tall, cuz' I (somehow) pulled it off!
