Before I even read any of the new comments I just want to say Hello first. I hope you all are doing great, and I hope the stuff on the show lately has been keeping you completely galvanized. There's more fun stuff coming up and then after Sam helps in the "reveal" with the Todd/Blair drama, I things will quiet down for a little while for Sam while the PTB decide what to do with him. I expect it's going to be pretty good. Anyway, life is really great right now and I'm grateful for every day. All the best, always, Larry.
Larry: Thanks for checking in! Is there anything we can do to help TPTB decide quicker or maybe in which direction they can go? I have some ideas I sent to Kat. I am ready for action! Thanks for posting. I agree with Nancy we must get Sam on screen at least 3 to 4 days a week. The show is so boring when Sam is not on. I also will be glad to send TPTB ideas for Sam. We want to see Sam in a good front burner storyline by the end of Summer. You did an excellent job with those scenes where Sam rescued Blair from a drunken Chad.
hi Larry and everyone! This is my first time posting a message on this board. Larry, I must tell you, my mum and I enjoy watching you on OLTL. Your personality is wonderful. You are certainly a soft and warm person. There is the softball game for Shorefront Friends for Hospice on June 8th at the Midwood High School Field, and we learned that you will be there. I find it interesting, because I graduated from Midwood High School in 1996, and it is great that you will be playing for a good cause. My mum and I will be at the game. It will be our first time at such an event and I think it will be exciting to be there. It would be an honor to meet you. :) My friend from FL, Kate Smith, also posts messages on this board. I know how much she wishes that she could be at the game. ;) I wish she, and all of Larry's fans could be there too. I've got some bad news. I have a conflict with the June 8th date and I will be unable to attend the softball game. I apologize to all those who were looking forward to meeting me; please know I'm terribly sorry about this, it's my loss as well. Larry, I am sure that some of the fans who are planning to attend the softball game were disappointed that you can't be there. However, we all understand! Now my question for you is about your earlier message regarding TPTB giving Sam a little bit of a rest. Of course, we aren't really happy about that, because we enjoy OLTL so much more when you're a big part of the story. However, I remember reading that Catherine Hickland appreciated the fact that Gary Tomlin likes to make sure that all of you get some real quality time off. Will you be getting a nice vacation during this period? We know that you deserve it - but we'll still miss you when Sam steps back for a while!

Hi Larry, It's me again!! I'm not going to be flippant here at all. And I don't care who reads this! Okay, so now you've got me more than a little concerned here. I know you have nothing to do with TPTB and how they think but they should know that you are FAR TOO GOOD not to immediately come up some fantastic storyline for Sam. Nobody shines the way you do, Larry. I knew that the first time I saw you on AW and I thought "Where has this wonderfully talented man been all this time?" Because no one else can bring us the true heart of the moment like you can. No one else has your depth, honesty, commitment and talent. Simply put, Larry, YOU ROCK!! And it's time TPTB at OLTL realized that!!
So, even though I can't see OLTL yet (but I'm hoping!!)I'm joining the list of people writing to TPTB at the show and telling them so. Because when they hear from us, they'll realize what a monumental error of judgment they're making by not letting you shine continuously and FOREVER!!! When you started playing Sam, a friend asked me what I thought. My reply was "He's sexy ala California Surfer Dude!" But Sam is (or can be) so much more than that. He has a playful, witty side, and Larry is just the person to bring those traits to light. Hey PTB: wake up, lighten up and watch Larry shine!

Hi Larry, I haven't had a chance to see the great scenes with Starr and Sam yet. I am looking forward to a little marathon with my three favorites,(Sam, Ben and Jerry) after settling in a bit. It sounds like Sam has had some quality airtime while I was away. I could use a little reality break right now. It is GREAT to be home! It's been a long and winding road and a very emotional journey. This comment is about the show, not Larry. I hope that's ok. My husband is a lawyer, and he said Sam would never be able to get away with what he's doing right now on the show, due to conflict of interest. 1) He's Blair's ex-lover, and Blair's husband just caught him kissing his wife. 2) Blair is not divorced yet, and she does not have custody of Todd's kids yet. Based on those two facts, it was incredibly wrong for Sam to tell Blair to take the kids and run, and especially wrong for him to agree to go with them. Why don't the writers put a little thought into these things. They are making Sam look like he's after Todd's wife.
I bet you had no idea what a can a worms you opened by signing on as Sam Rappaport LOL! Please know many of us LOVE you and Sam. As far as conflict of interest...it is a soap and if Nora can defend Sam in Colin's murder trial and then put herself on the witness stand(when she in fact killed him,) and Troy can give medical cures in his loft and truth serum to whomever he pleases, and Bo can overlook charges against Gabby, then you can do whatever your heart desires IMO LOL!! How viewers(TnB fans) are saying Sam is chasing Blair right now is beyond me. He has been nothing but a friend. However, the wonderful world of rumors and the Internet has them shaking in their boots that Sam might be paired with Blair. Blair should be so lucky! Keep smiling...Donna
Oh and Larry, one more thing...you did a great job when Sam told Blair she should GET AWAY (not run) for a while and sort this out without having to constantly watch her back. Did I miss the part where Sam agreed to go along? Are we watching the same show? Donna:)

Larry: As most everyone here has posted, you and Sam ROCK! I think you are doing a great job, and many, many of us feel good about your character and the way you portray him. Jennifer: I think that Donna's response was simply meant to say that OLTL is a soap, and reality is frequently enhanced on soaps. Yes, some of what Sam does would probably be a conflict of interest, but that is true of every professional character on the soap. Heck, the Police made an arrest well outside of their jurisdiction when they arrested Roxie in Atlantic City (different state from Llanview even!!!). However, I believe that the reason the negative message that was removed contained vulgarity and totally inappropriate comments. That's the reason it was removed. If people want to be negative about EITHER Sam or Larry, I don't think the guestbook for his website is the appropriate place. Comments about the characters should be shared in one of the forums created for the purpose of complaining about characters. Your comments, in my opinion, were not negative.
Just wanted to let everyone know I won't be able to make the Wednesday night chat session this week. I'm having a major power supply problem with my computer, and it keeps shutting down on me. Hopefully I'll get this fixed soon, as I keep losing my work. Guess it's not a good idea to keep trying until it's fixed. :-)

Hi. Listen, I need to make a comment. I received an intense fan letter at the studio yesterday from a good fan; it was thoughtful and well written, but contrary to the letters' assertion, I think Sam is well liked, and I say this based on the fact that if we take this fan's letter's belief as true, that the PTB have continually written Sam as a "loser", (which, by the way, I don't believe), then it 's pretty amazing that Sam is thriving as well as he is. Sam, too, has a growing fan base, it's increasing every month . How do you explain that? If according to this letter Sam's character is always getting the short end of the stick, then why is he doing so well and being moved into another major storyline? I think there's something inside Sam that people just like and that despite whatever circumstances he's written into, people have a positive reaction to him. If it takes awhile for TPTB to get a handle on a really satisfying storyline thrust for Sam, well, so be it! They're just really getting to know Sam, now that he's out from under an unrequited love and can finally begin to flourish independently. And they had other long term agenda's to contend with and complete, and others to begin as well. I think things are progressing quite well for Sam. I know the PTB really like him a lot and consider him a valuable asset to the show. Things are GOOD; I don't think the fan who wrote me that letter needs to panic. If she wants to, it's always a good thing to write to TPTB and tell what you want. They listen.

Larry, I'm glad you get your mail and I'm delighted you take the time to read it and respond. Sam IS may favorite character and has been since he arrived in Llanview.I love the character and no I do not personally think Sam is a looser but I have read that comment more times than I care to mention. I suspect that I lurk too much on the bb's. I'm delighted to hear that TPTB like Sam because I certainly do. I have always suspected that Sam is probably more liked than what one can adequately assess on the net. However, I do think that Sam gets the short end of the stick many times. I'm more than ready to see Sam come out on top for a change. I just want to see Sam/you front and center with good stories. I'm sure that Sam has many fans who do not bother with the internet. I think they are a bit smarter than me!:) I look forward to seeing what is in store for Sam. Yes, you have quite a few intense fans and I am definitely one!:) I look forward to your upcoming performances. The best to you always and may some great writing for Sam be just on the horizon.

Larry, You are so sweet to respond to our concerns. I think I may be a close friend of the author of that "concerned fan letter." LOL!! Sadly, it won't be long before there are Internet fans that will be ripping apart the comment you made about Sam,..."there's something inside Sam that people just like and that despite whatever circumstances he's written into, people have a positive reaction to him." We certainly do but don't take that comment over to the BoNora board or TT.com.LOL! We know that many fans love Sam and love you as Sam but not all are Internet vocal. We just know that writing Sam to always lose the woman, lied to, clueless (Nora's secret), doesn't build his character but sets him up for character bashing on these other message boards. We are diehard Sam/Larry fans. We want TPTB to fix that. We want them to show the light, playful, romantic, funny side of Sam that YOU do so well. We want YOU to be the hero for once. I guess we need to stay off those other message boards and realize that the viewing audience consists mostly of nonInternet fans, many of whom love Sam and you. You bet we will write TPTB...we have adopted you as our guy! Keep smiling:).

Erika, I also think I need to cut back on reading those other bb's. As for Sam, he is definitely not a loser. In fact, in many situations he has been the voice of reason. After the current storylines wrap up, it will be exciting to see Sam move on to a new chapter in his life and may be find a love that can be returned this time. Meanwhile, I am just enjoying Sam's interactions with Blair and Starr.

Larry, thanks so much for responding to our concerns about how TPTB perceive Sam as a character. We totally agree that Sam isn't a LOSER - far from it, we all think that he's one of the strongest characters on OLTL. Many of us really love watching Sam help Starr understand what's happened to her parents, and to help Blair through what would be a really intolerable period in real life. Like some of the others have said, it is hard to read some of the nasty comments that people make about OLTL characters (not just Sam) on other bb's. I hadn't really been a participant in chat rooms or on bb's until I started reading the SoapNet bb about a year ago. I have really enjoyed chatting weekly with the folks who come to Kat's Wednesday night chat, Larry. We talk about a lot of things (not just you or Sam!), but it was you and Sam who brought us together, so we naturally feel some need to come to Sam's defense when we read some of the negative posts.
It is because actors such as you, Hillary, and Kassie take time to respond to the fans that makes watching OLTL so much fun As Erika and Nancy both mentioned here - I think I will limit my reading/posting to here, Nancy's site, and the oltl.about.com site, where we can be among friends who know how to disagree with one another respectfully! Thanks again for your comments. We hope that TPTB let YOU have a nice vacation once Sam takes the back burner for a while. We love your performance, Larry, and we continue to support Sam and are happy that things are going well for you at OLTL!
Hey Larry--thanks again for posting and for keeping us updated! I've told many of the posters here to just ignore some of the message boards, since they get depressed reading them. I personally don't have time for all the negativity and don't read them. I believe what you post to us, and I'll support Larry/Sam no matter what! Your scenes with Nora when you told her you've moved on were GREAT, and I love that TPTB are experimenting different avenues for an independent Sam!

Larry, Sam, a loser? No way. Sam has all the qualities that any woman would want in a man and I believe you, personally, possess all of those qualities. That's the reason it's so easy to care about Sam as well as you. We will support you in whatever path you chose or TPTB chose. I think letters to TPTB can be a very positive influence when written in a constructive manner. I hope more fans will write to support you as well as the character. Enjoyed those Sam/Starr scenes today in the hotel lobby. Sam is really going to have to be on his toes around that little schemer LOL. So far, Sam has done a wonderful job with Starr, he actually forces Starr to do something foreign to her -- mind her mother.

Hiya! I know I am posting a lot today but I got some great news from my nephew just a while ago and thought I would share it with my friends! It seems as well as coming home with a great report card my nephew also got 40 out of 40 on his M-CATS! He's the only one in the school who did! Hey everyone! Hey Laurence! My name is Melinda, and I've been a fan of OLTL since about 1995. I really enjoy your character on the show. Sam's one of my favorites. I went to a fan event in July of 2000, and met several of the actors. I hope to be able to attend another one soon, so I am able to meet you. I love the fact that you interact so much with the fans. This is a great page, and I love you on OLTL. I live all the way in Kansas...so it's really hard for me to get to fan events (there are some health problems too...but that's a whoooooole 'nother story.)
